I want to know whether energy drinks are healthy for you?

Caffeine and Health
kevin arnold asked:

It says on the label "natural health product" and it contains stuff like ginseng and B vitamins, but it also contains lots of caffeine. I don't know whether to believ it is actually a "health" product. Anyone more knowledged than I am on this topic?

humans have been drinking cafeine for centuries and after countless studies, people haven't found anything wrong with it. energy drinks relatively have alot more cafeine than regular sodas like coke or pepsi and the cafeine in them is what gives them their effect, it speeds up metabolism and heartrate making the user feel more alert. hope i helped

A friend of my daughter's, who is 15, had a heart attack from drinking them. She was playing softball and collapsed. Be careful!

Energy drinks are usually charged up with a lot of caffeine (much more than a normal decaffeinated drink), and excessive amounts of vitamins, plus other naturally occurring "healthy" elements. But they are not "healthy" in & of themselves.
You'd be better off with a glass of orange juice in most cases.
